Bengaluru: Members of Legislative Council Arun D.S. have drawn the attention of the government,demanding that children and the general public are suffering through online gaming apps and to investigate and cancel such activities.

Responding on behalf of the Home Minister, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundurao said "The general public, especially the youth, are hobbyists with online games such as Dream 11, My Circle, etc. There are financial losses and psychological problems, besides, male and female students are playing online games and are spoiling their student life."

"Hence, the government has launched cyber awareness programs through social media, 'Cyber Crime Awareness Day' is being celebrated in all police station areas. In this program cyber crime prevention and Awareness workshops are being organized and counseling is being given to victims of fraud.

The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal has been launched by the government through which the public can file complaints about fraud.

The government has launched a helpline number of 1930 where the public can provide immediate information about fraud 24*7.
