Mangalore. December 01: First aid is not something new, it’s in our tradition. Skilful first aid can save precious lives in health emergencies, said Indian Red Cross Society District President Shantharama Shetty C A.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the first aid professional certificate training workshop organized by the Mangalore University Youth Red Cross unit at University College Mangalore here on Thursday, he said that knowing first aid is the need of the day.
In his Presidential remarks, Mangalore University Registrar Prof. Kishore Kumar CK said that when life is full of uncertainty, with first aid we can save lives. Principal Dr.Anasuya Rai said that the college will always support all the programs of the Youth Red Cross. Get first aid training and contribute to society, she suggested.
District Youth Red Cross Director Sachet Suvarna gave training on first aid and demonstrated its use. The. District IRCS First Aid Sub-Committee Director Dr. Sachidananda Rai, Red Cross Administrative Committee Director P. B Harish Rai, Yenepoya University Youth Red Cross Nodal Officer Nithyashree, District Red Cross Treasurer Mohan K Shetty were present among others.
Mangalore University Youth Red Cross Nodal Officer of Dr. Ganapathi Gowda welcomed the guests, while YRC Program Officer of the college Dr. Kumaraswamy M mastered the ceremony.
