New Delhi, Nov 11: It was 6.52 pm on November 10. As usual, the people of Delhi were busy on the roads. Vehicles were moving slowly on the road next to Gate 1 of the Red Fort station of the Delhi Metro, located near the historic Red Fort. Since it was evening, there was a lot of traffic. Therefore, vehicles were moving slowly on that road.

At around 6.52 pm, an i20 car that was moving slowly on that road came to a stop near the red signal near the Gauri Shankar and Jain temples at the end of the same road. As soon as the driver slowed down the car, the entire car suddenly exploded. Not only were the cars behind, in front, on either side of it also damaged, but as soon as the explosion occurred, the car burst into flames and caught fire, and the fire spread to the damaged cars behind and in front of it, and those cars also caught fire. Not only that, the cars parked next to the road were also damaged and those cars also caught fire and burned.

Locals said that the parts of the bodies of the deceased at the scene fell 150-160 meters away due to the force of the explosion. Human hands and feet fell into shops near the Red Fort Metro. Eyewitnesses said that heads, hands, feet and other body parts fell on the neighboring roads.
As a result, those in the exploded car, those in the cars behind it, and those walking on the footpath beside the road... dozens of people were seriously injured. Around 9 pm, 10 people were killed in the same incident. The injured were admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Delhi. The NIA, the Bomb Disposal Squad of Delhi Police and other forces reached the spot and collected samples from the spot.
