Dakshina Kannada on Monday, September 21 recorded 233 new cases and eight deaths, while Udupi reported 233 new cases and four deaths Among the 233 new cases, 78 are primary contacts, 105 have influenza-like illness (ILI), nine have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI), and 41 cases are under investigation. As many as 107 out of the 233 are asymptomatic.
Udupi:- As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, As many as 15,624 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 233 on Monday, and 1,366 cases are currently active. As per the district bulletin, 144 deaths have occurred so far including four deaths reported on Monday. The deceased are two females, a 72-year-old from Karkala, a 70-year-old from Udupi district and two males, a 66-year-old from Kundapur and an 84-year-old from Udupi.
Among the 233 new cases, 111 are from Udupi, 55 from Kundapur, 47 in Karkala, and 20 from outside the district. Among them, 140 acquired the virus through contacts, 78 have ILI, six have SARI, and five are under investigation. Out of the 233 cases, 98 are asymptomatic.
Mangalore:- As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 20,367 positive cases have been reported to date, out of which 4,317 are currently active. A total of 1,39,050 samples have been tested so far, out of which 1,18,683 reported negative. As many as 15,505 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 404 on Monday. A total of 490 deaths have occurred so far, including eight on Monday.
