Mangalore: Francis Saldanha brother of Rev Fr. J B Saldanha passes away. Francis Saldanha, also known as Panchu Bantwal passed away Today July 06, 2024. He was 58. He was a well known Konkani writer, poet and lyricist. Born in Bantwal, Karnataka, India.
Throughout his illustrious career, Panchu Bantwal wrote over 200 songs, 5 novels, and 150 short stories with more than 30 featured in various albums. His contributions to Konkani literature and music are invaluable, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. Former editor of 'Jhelo' served the position for six years.
