Mangaluru: Shakti Pre-University College Free Kabaddi selection process was inaugurated by Premanath Shetty, Director of Physical Education, Vivekananda Pre-University College, Edpadavu in Shakthi PU College, Shakthinagara, Mangaluru.

He addressed the audience and told that the players must have self-discipline in this game and must identify themselves as successful players. He said that he would like to congratulate Dr. K.C. Naik on  this occasion. He also spoke about good skills of the game and wished good luck to all the 116 students of the state who will be participating in the new selection process. 

Ramesh K, Chief Advisor,  Shakthi Education Trust presided over the program. He spoke about the organisation, how it has been providing free food, accommodation and coaching for Kabaddi students from the last 2 years. As a result Shakthi students have represented the state of Karnataka at the all India level. It is special here to note that Kabaddi students pass out with 90-97% marks, though they are constantly  involved in  sports training, giving  a message that academics is also given importance. Kabaddi students won Bronze medal at the All India Level. It is our intention to pass them by imparting cultured education in the coming days as well. 

Out of 116 students participating in the Kabaddi selection process 10 students will be selected and they will be given free education. A total of 35 students will be given free education throughout the year. Apart from this, spending Rs.30 lakhs per year in sports is a specialty of this organization.

Ranjith Naik , Patna Pro-Kabaddi Player and Premnath Shetty were felicitated on this occasion. Dr. K C Naik, Founder of the organisation and Sanjith Naik, Secretary were present during this event.  Prathviraj , Principal Shakthi PU College, gave the welcome speech. Ravishankar Hegde, Principal Shakthi Residential School proposed the vote of thanks. Sharanappa Sir Kannada Department was the MC for the programme.
