Bengaluru, Nov. 12: Tirupati Laddu scam, 650kg fake ghee was sold to Tirupati and It is certain that fake ghee was used in the preparation of Tirupati laddu prasad and strict punishment should be given to the guilty, Legislative Council member T.A. Saravana has demanded.

Giving a press statement in this regard, he said that this is a serious case that has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindu devotees. The SIT investigation has confirmed that fake ghee worth crores of rupees was used in the laddu prasad prepared at Tirupati Tirumala Temple (TTD). The investigation has confirmed that 68 lakh kg of fake ghee worth more than Rs 250 crore was used, which he said is condemnable.

He demanded that those responsible for the irregularities should be punished based on the investigation by the CBI and Andhra Police, adding that the investigation has also confirmed the allegations of using fat and poor quality ingredients in TTD laddus. He said that there should be no forgiveness for those who did such things.

Appeal to use Nandini ghee: To maintain the quality of prasad, the Karnataka government is ready to supply as much as possible of the famous and quality Nandini ghee of our state. Sharavan has appealed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the TTD administration to use Nandini ghee.
