Udupi, Apr 06: Holy Thursday also known as Maundy Thursday was Observed with Solemnity at St. John the Evangelist Church Shankarpura on April 6th 2023 at 6.30 pm which included the homily “ Washing of the feet of the apostles ” and “ The Holy Adoration. The Solemn Holy Thursday Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, the parish priest as the Chief celebrant assisted by Fr. Anil Pinto & Fr Vijay DSouza
In his homily Fr. Ferdinand Emphasized the Significance of the Maundy Thursday, thereafter he washed the feet of 9 men and 3 women reminding the washing of the feet of the 12 Apostles by Jesus Christ. At the end of holy mass, the Holy Adoration did, then the Holy Eucharist was taken to the Altar of Repose. Thereafter the faithful devotees continued the Adoration with reverence.
