Mangalore: World Soil Day was celebrated in collaboration with Department of Botany and IQAC of University College Mangalore at Ravindra Kalabhavana of the college on Monday.
Coordinator of Post Graduate History and Archaeology Department of the college, Dr. Kumara swamy M, who was a resource person in the program, said that a big task has to be done is to save our soil. He opined that terrace gardening or terrace forest in our homes is now a necessary. Principal-in-charge Dr. Harisha A presided over the programme.
Prizes were distributed to students who won in various competitions organized as part of the Soil Day celebrations. Department of Botany Assistant Professor Dr. Siddaraju welcomed the guests. Swathi extended vote of thanks, Meghna mastered the ceremony. Botany department lecturer Kavya and others were present.
