Mangalore: Kuvempu was not only influenced by western literature but also by the ideas of saints such as Vivekananda and Aravinda. Their humanity was the pillar for his rationality, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P S Yadapadithaya opined.
Speaking at the 'Aagu nee Aniketanai', a program in memory of poet Kuvempu and a book release program organised by the SVP Kannada Study Institute at Mangalore University on Wednesday, he hoped that Kuvempu's‘VishwaManava’ message may open our eyes to overcome the barriers like caste, creed etc.
Delivering a special lecture, Vivekananda College Kannada Department Head Dr.H G. Shreedhar opined that Kuvempu had developed an attitude of questioning, but he was not aggressive and wanted to convince people. “The aspiration of Kuvempu of Kannada medium education is not yet realized, “he lamented.
