Puttur: St Philomena Autonomous College is celebrating a major academic victory with seven candidates including five final-year postgraduate students successfully clearing the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET) for Lecturers. The examination, a mandatory requirement for securing Assistant Professor positions in government and aided colleges, was conducted on November 2nd by the KEA, the nodal agency recognised by the UGC.

The institution takes immense pride in the five postgraduate students who achieved this feat in their very first attempt. The qualifiers include Shraddha U.S., Lavanya K.M., and Chasmika T. from the Commerce Department, Nitish M. from Physics, and Bhavana K.J. from Mathematics. Their success grants them eligibility for the coveted teaching posts across Karnataka.

Furthermore, two Assistant Professors from the Postgraduate Centre also successfully qualified, highlighting the institution's overall academic excellence. Sheethal Kumar qualified in History, and Deepika qualified in Mathematics.

The successful candidates benefitted from structured training provided by the college. The Career Guidance Unit offered coaching for the mandatory general paper, while the respective academic departments provided intensive subject-wise preparation.

The Principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, along with the Postgraduate Department Coordinators Ganesh Bhat, Vipin Naik, and Harshit R., extended their heartfelt congratulations to the successful students and faculty members for their exemplary performance and dedication.
