Mangalore:  Women and Child Development Department, National Rural Livelihoods mission Dakshina Kannada, on behalf of UNDP Project Code Unnati Programme, conducted two days skill training for Shakti, Sanjeevini and other Self Help group womenon self-employment, entrepreneurship development at Meenakshi Madir, Kaladka Bantwal. 

The program was inaugurated by Abhishek Shetty (President Goltamajel Gram Panchayat),  Lakshmi V. Prabhu (Vice-President, Goltamajel Gram Panchayat),  Nalinakshi (Cluster Supervisor NRLM), Shobha (WCD Supervisor),  Bhavani (MBK), Sivakumar Swamy (District Coordinator UNDP),  Umesh (EDA, UNDP), Deeksha and  Lydia (Community mobiliser UNDP) Lakita R Shetty &  Deepak (Panchayat Member) inaugurated the event.

Goltamajel Gram Panchayat President Abhishek Shetty spoke about the implementation of various government schemes by the State Government and the Central Government to enable women to start businesses with the mission of women empowerment he also spoke about the utilization of the two-day UNDP Project Code Unnati Training Program.

Sivakumar (District Coordinator UNDP) gave an overview on Project code Unnati, he also emphasized on developing entrepreneurial proficiency among women which will enable them to start their micro enterprises. 

 Lakshmi V Prabhu (Vice President, Golthamejel Gram Panchayath) spoke on gender equality, she also spoke on how women have distinguished themselves in various fields and have become successful entrepreneurs.

 Nalinakshi (Cluster Supervisor, NRLM) emphasized on womenbecoming entrepreneurs and she also spoke on making the best use of various skill training programs.

 Shobha (WCD Supervisor) anchored the program.  Bhavani (MBK) and Arunakshi (LCRP) and 73 women from various self-help groups participated in the entrepreneurship training program.
