Mangalore, April 15: “He is the one who bore all our sins in his body so that we can live for righteousness. He took wounds on his body so that we could get healed. May this sacrifice of Jesus give strength to our soul and light our way towards eternal happiness”.
Good Friday, the commemoration of the Crucifixion and death of Jesus occupies an important place. Good Friday is being celebrated throughout the world with great devotion and sorrow.
The Good Friday service in St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Valencia commenced at 6pm on 15th April 2022 .
Fr Lancy DSouza Asst PP was the chief celebrant with Fr Roque D’Sa Parish Priest and Fr William Barracas were the con-celebrants.
The Good Friday Service is divided into three segments,
Reading of passages from Holy Scriptures including the Passion of Christ from the Gospel of St. John and prayers for the various intentions of the church.
Veneration of the Cross.
Holy Communions.
The Passion of Christ was narrated by Fr William Barracas , Roshan, Jessica and the choir.
Fr Lancy in his homily mentioned about the sacrifices Jesus did. In the same way we also need to follow the steps of Jesus. He also mentioned the significance of the cross. Let’s all become a example and lead a life ,how Jesus did.
Fr Lancy brought the Crucifix to the altar which was unveiled step by step by Fr Roque with respect and adored the Crucified Christ. The faithful paid respect to the Crucified Christ by paying respect to the Crucifix.
