Kasargod: Raymond D’Cunha Taccode remarked that the Santhosh Arts and Sports Club, located in Seethangoli of Kasaragod district, is an example of communal harmony. As the club celebrates its Golden Jubilee, he noted that it has inspired people of all religions to come together despite the absence of a church, temple, or mosque nearby, contributing significantly to the all-round development of Seethangoli.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the club’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, where he was also felicitated.

Speaking further, he observed that a great transformation has taken place over the last 25 years. Over the span of 50 years, the entire atmosphere has been filled with peace, harmony, and development, which has paved the way for major ventures.

Guest P.B. Tausif Ahmad inaugurated the celebratory procession by striking the drum. Poet, film actor, and director Prabhakar Kalluraya accepted the felicitation at Seethangoli and presented poetry during his speech.

Founding member Thomas D’Souza welcomed everyone and .expressed his happiness stating that the village, which once had only three small shops, has now grown into a town with hundreds of shops and thousands of residents, a growth made possible by the contributions of the Santhosh Arts and Sports Club. He called it a beautiful example of communal harmony.

He elaborated on the club’s journey and said that every entrepreneur, trader, vehicle driver, and owner in Seethangoli has become part of the organization and supports it in various ways. He called the Santhosh Sports and Arts Club a true example of communal life.

Cultural programs were coordinated by Gururaj. Ranjith, Satish Raj, and all the members dressed uniformly and organized the event in a coordinated manner. The club members and their children performed various cultural programs. Appanna Patali delivered the vote of thanks. Cultural Secretary Shobith managed the overall arrangements.

The event began with a grand street procession featuring drums and a Mahabali (Onam character) figure.
