Puttur, Sept 26: St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, played host to a grand spectacle of talent and innovation with the conclusion of its national-level management fest, ‘Facula 2025: Squid Game’. Organised by the Department of Business Administration on Wednesday, the fest provided a dynamic platform for students from various parts of the country to showcase their creativity, novelty, and competitive spirit.
The event was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Radhika Devayya, Recruiting Lead at Baker Tilly, Bengaluru. In her address, she emphasised that managerial skills, creativity, and team spirit are crucial components in shaping future leaders.
Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the College, attended as the Guest of Honour, motivating students to leverage such opportunities to supplement their theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Correspondent of the College Very Rev. Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, presided over the function, urging students to embrace challenges, move forward courageously, and strive for excellence in their fields by nurturing creativity, novelty, and teamwork.
The Fest, inspired by the ‘Squid Game’ theme, featured various management competitions designed to measure the students’ strategic thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Every stage of the competition proceeded successfully in an enthusiastic atmosphere.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Dean of the Business Administration Department, and the vote of thanks was proposed by student coordinator Mohammad Afnan. Priya, a II BBA student, compered the event.
Valedictory Function and Results
The valedictory ceremony of ‘Facula 2025’ was conducted under the presidency of the College Principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro.
Abdu Samad P.A., Managing Director of AMA Ceramics Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, and a distinguished alumnus of the college, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Sharing his entrepreneurial journey, he inspired the students to realise their dreams with determination and resolve.
Abhishek Suvarna, Assistant Professor in the BBA Department and Staff Coordinator, welcomed. Dr Radhakrishna Gowda V., Head of the Department, shed light on the objectives and success of the fest. In his presidential message, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro lauded the team spirit of the participating students and encouraged them to further develop their talents.
