The Mangaluru Chapter of Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH) invites photo essays from young photography enthusiasts and students currently enrolled in college and university, who have a passion for photography and writing. The INTACH seeks photographs accompanied by a story on themes such as people, places, history and the culture of the Tulu speaking districts of erstwhile South Canara - Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod.

Guidelines for Submission
This Photo Story Contest is open to all college and university students based in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod.
The participant needs to tell a visual story which reflects the people, places, history and the culture of the region during the monsoon season within 12 photographs, and a text of not more than 900 words. The story may be written in Tulu, Kannada or in English.
The submission may be made by an individual or a collaboration between not more than two individuals (where two participants may be involved in the project; for instance, one as photographer and the other as writer).
- Digital photographs can be shot in DSLR or Smartphone
- A series of 12 jpeg images with width 2400px and file size not more than 1 MB
- We will not accept photographs shot before 2017 (Metadata of all the images need to be provided on request)
- We will not accept material previously published (images/articles) on social media or on any other platform
- We do not encourage plagiarism
- Watermarked and edited images will not be accepted
Please also include
- Title for the project
- A profile photo and a short bio of 100 words for both the photographer and the writer
- Copy of a valid college/university ID
- Details of photographs: caption, date, place, dimensions
- Camera and exposure details
The Competition
- Photo stories will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will select the winners
- The top 3 entries will receive First, Second, and Third prize
- The 3 prize-winning photo series will be exhibited in the INTACH gallery, Mangalore and also be published in an online magazine
- Certificates will be provided for all the prize-winning entries
- In the event that a collaborative submission wins, both participants will receive certificates
