Mangalore: German Wurzburg University Indology Department Assistant Professors Prof. Dr. Karin Steiner and Dr. Kathrin Holz visited Mangalore University on Friday, to rejuvenate an academic memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two universities and effective implementation of academic exchange programs.  

Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya presided over the meeting of German Wurzburg University visiting professors with SVP Kannada Study Institute and Department of Yogic Science, held in the guidance of Hampi University former vice chancellor Prof. B A Viveka Rai. The meeting decided to increase the academic and cultural awareness extension plans.  German Wurzburg University Indology Professor Prof. Dr. Karin Steiner explained the possibility of academic MoU between the two universities. 

Based on his experience of visiting German University, Prof. B A Viveka Rai said that there is scope to work together in the field of Kannada- Tulu literature, folk and on Yogic Science. Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya explained the terms of the agreement and also assured of extending complete cooperation to those who are interested in study and research. 

Mangalore University Registrar Prof. Kishore Kumar C K, Finance Officer Prof. K S Jayappa, Department of Yogic Science Head Prof. K Krishna Sharma, SVP Kannada Study Institute President Prof. Somanna Hongalli and Assistant Professor Dr. Dhananjaya Kumble were present on this occasion. 

After the meeting, German team visited the Kannada Department, Yogic Science Department and Cultural Museum of Kannada Department and Yakshagana Study Centre (museum).
