Mangalore: In a strategic move, Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank, a prominent Regional Rural Bank, launched a current account catering to the premier segment, targeting traders, trusts, partnerships, societies, and organizations. Shreekant M Bhandiwad, the Chairman, inaugurated the scheme on Wednesday.
Speaking at the launch, Bhandiwad highlighted the bank's commitment to serving diverse segments of society. The new current account offers exclusive benefits to the business class, with eligibility criteria set at maintaining a monthly average balance of Rs.2 lakhs.
The key features of the premier account include a waiver of cash handling charges up to Rs.5 lakhs per day. Additionally, the account holders will enjoy exemptions on charges for NEFT, RTGS, Mobile Banking, Net Banking Merchant app, UPI, SMS, and commission on Demand Drafts. The package also includes the issuance of printed cheque books up to 300 leaves and Rupay Debit cards/Rupay Platinum cards, along with a QR code and a sound box.
Bhandiwad disclosed that the bank has achieved significant milestones, crossing a business level of Rs. 33938 Crore comprising deposits of Rs. 18479 Crore and advances of Rs. 15459 Crore. Emphasizing the bank's commitment to adapting to a changing environment, he underscored the priority of delivering top-notch products and services to customers.
General Managers of the Bank, V Thennarasu, R T Kamble, Sateesha R, Satya Prasad N, M Punit, and other executives were present on the occasion. The launch marks a strategic step for Karnataka VikasGrameen Bank in enhancing its offerings for the business community amid evolving financial landscapes.
