Gujarat: A wealthy Jain couple from Gujarath give up Rs. 200 crore to become Jain monk.

Businessman Bhavesh Bhandari and his wife donate Rs. 200 crore and all their wealth during the ceremony held in February and officially commit to a life of renunciation at an event later this month. 

After taking the pledge during Diksha Mahotsava on April 22, the couple has to leave all the family ties and materialistic objects, they will walk barefoots.

In the Diksha Mahotsava they are given two white garments, Alms bowl and a 'Rajoharan' which is a wodden stick with a purpose to move any minute insects before using the area to sit or sleep.

It is said that couple who was in constuction business has 19-year-old daughter and 16 year-old daughter and they adopted monkhood in April 2022.
