In slavery life is changed not ended proclaims crusader Harold D’Souza Managing Director of Eyes Open International (EOI) a non-profit organization registered under 501 (c) 3 in the United States of America.
It takes an entire village to raise a child, similarly EOI President Harold says it takes an entire world to combat human trafficking globally.
Eyes Open International is focused on prevention, education, protection, and empowerment of victims, survivors, vulnerable population, and community members across the globe.
EOI is honored to announce the appointment of Board Members; Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, Sister Therese DelGenio, Pamela A. Mason Retired FBI Special Agent, and Dr. Jessica Donohue-Dioh.
Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil is India’s very first openly gay royal figure. Prince of Rajpipla spoke; There are several global issues that most of us are unaware of. I wasn’t quite aware of Human Trafficking until I got the opportunity to meet Harold D’Souza in Mumbai, a survivor of Human Trafficking and the co-founder of Eyes Open International. After meeting him, my “Eyes” literally “opened” on the reality and a lot of myths and misconceptions I had on Human Trafficking, Bondage, and Slavery were resolved. After listening to his story, I also saw Harold as an Ally for the LGBT community and gladly accepted his invitation to collaborate with his organization, Eyes Open International with my non-profit organization, Lakshya Trust which works for the empowerment of the LGBT community. Since Harold belonged to Vadodara in Gujarat State of Western India, the city where Lakshya Trust is situated as well, I took this opportunity to invite him and his team to visit our organization and meet my staff and community members.
My name is Therese DelGenio, and I am a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The existence of human trafficking in my once uninformed mind was a terrible tragedy that existed in third-world countries. I was stunned to learn that Cincinnati is a hotbed for labor and sex trafficking because of the north/south, east/west highways used to transport victims.
Since the local problem was so enormous, Sister Joan Krimm and I worked with eight other religious orders to educated others through presentations and to provide hotel/motel staff with an awareness of “red flags” and resources for assistance when they suspected trafficking occurring in their facilities.
Harold Henry D’Souza proclaims loud and clear; ‘If you are a victim of any crime, pull your socks up, dust yourself, and rise to the occasion’.
Prince Manvendra added; “According to the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, Washington DC, LGBT victims of human trafficking, Law enforcement officials, and service providers should partner with LGBT organizations to enhance victim identification efforts and adapt assistance services to meet the unique needs of LGBT victims. Therefore, I believe that this collaboration is greatly going to help both organizations nationally and internationally to address issues of LGBT and Human Trafficking.
Sr. Therese DelGenio shared; “A blessing that came out of this endeavor was meeting and becoming friends with Harold, Dancy, and their two remarkable sons. They taught me the power of courage, faith, hope, and resilience which they pass on to others who are entrapped.
There is so much that can be done through financial as well as professional resources for victims: legal, medical, dental, spiritual, psychological. Working together we can do our part to provide basic needs for food, clothing and shelter, and furniture. Every effort, no matter how small, is huge in affirming the goodness and dignity of every victim. Please reach out.”
Eyes Open International is aimed to open branches in 50 countries. It’s unbelievable but true as a Blockbuster Biopic Film is being made of on the life of Harold D’Souza from India to America to The White House to Bollywood-Hollywood Film.
