Mumbai: Renowned police officer Daya Nayak, originally from Ennehole in Karkala, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Mumbai. Prior to this, he served as a Senior Inspector with the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Until recently, Nayak held the post of senior inspector in the Mumbai crime branch, where he earned recognition for his work in tackling organised crime in the city.
Nayak began his career in the police service in 1995 and quickly rose to prominence for his role in combating the Mumbai underworld. By 2004, he was credited with carrying out over 85 encounters against hardened criminals, earning him the tag of an ‘encounter specialist’.
His promotion is seen as a recognition of his years of dedicated service and effectiveness in dealing with organized crime and narcotics-related offences.
