Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Friday August 7 reported 166 new corona virus cases and seven deaths. Meanwhile, Udupi recorded another day of steep hike with 245 new cases and five deaths were reported in the district.
Mangalore:- As per the district health bulletin, a total of 6,881 positive cases have been reported till date, out of which 3,369 are currently active. As many as 3,304 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 188 on Friday. A total of 208 deaths have occurred so far, including seven on Friday.Among the 166 new cases, 83 have influenza-like illness (ILI), 13 have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI), 19 are primary contacts, and 51 are under investigation.
Udupi:- As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, , as many as 5,605 confirmed cases of corona virus have been reported so far in the district, including 245 on Friday. As many as 3,258 patients have been discharged so far, including 101 on Friday, and 2,292 cases are currently active. As per the district bulletin, 55 deaths have occurred so far including five on Friday.Among the 245 new cases, 125 are in Udupi, 92 in Kundapur, 25 in Karkala, and three from outside the district. As many as 70 cases symptomatic and 175 asymptomatic. Among them, 125 are male and 120 female out of which 91 have contracted infection from primary contacts, 57 have ILI symptoms, five have SARI symptoms, 86 are under investigation, five have domestic travelling history and one has domestic travelling history. Out of the 245, 15 have been admitted to COVID care centre, 120 to designated COVID hospital, 21 to designated COVID health hospital and 89 are under home isolation.
