Mangalore: Creativity is essential to face life. A creative hobby like poetry helps us to overcome the hardships and comfort ourselves, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya commented.

Addressing the audience after releasing ‘Navilu Gari’, the first poetical collection of Computer Science Assistant Professor Dr.Bharathi Pilar, here at Ravindra Kalabhavana of University College Mangaluru on Wednesday, 40 poems in the collection are thought provoking. “They include dreams, emotions and harsh reality. In the first attempt the poetic language is admirable,” he added. 

Mangalore University Brahmashree Narayana Guru Study Chair Coordinator Dr. Ganesh Amin Sankamar, who introduced the work, said that poems express love towards nature and fear of the destroyers. Poems have history, myth and reality. Speaking about her first book, Dr.Bharathi Pilarsaid, “I have given voice to my inner feelings through poems. The work has an attachment to my childhood memories.”

Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai, in her presidential remark appreciated the poet for her achievement amid the workflow. Retired teacher M. Vasudeva Rao welcomed the guests. Student Shrilakshmi offered prayer. Dr.Bharati Pilar's husband NageshGatti Pilar Melmane, Publisher KallurNagesh were present among others.
