Mangalore: Council of Engineers and Valuers Mangalore Chapter conducted Vanamohotsava with Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara School Mangalore in a unique way. With the intention of protecting the environment and developing Mangalore towards green Mangalore, about 60 no’s of plants were donated to the students of the school which are adopted by of 6th and 7th std students. Each student has to take care of the plant till 10th std and submit reports about the plant growth every month. Teachers in charge have to take the responsibility of the plants. After 10th std student have to hand over it some other student to take care of the plant.

In a stage programme plants were distributed to the students who have taken up the project by Chairman of Mangalore chapter Vr. P Kishore Rao, Vice chairman Er Satnthosh Hegde, Secretary Vr. Shankaranarayana P, ECmembers Vr. Sudheendra chithrapura, Vr Avin Kajekar, Er. Haladi Naresh Ramdas Kini Practical Environmentalist Jeet Roche and Principal  Joy J Rai.

Initially Chairman addressed the students spoke about how we have to go together with the development and environment. He said we have already lost our environment in the name of development, natural disaster etc. All these are because of imbalance in the nature created by human beings. He advised the students to take this project not only in the school also at houses and wherever possible. He stressed upon concept of Miyawaki forest projects in the cities like Mangalore.

A Practical Environmentalist Jeevan Roche who has planted thousands of plants in and around the city and taking care of those plants gave key note address joining his hands with CEV. He asked the students why we are eating healthy fruits today?? It is because our ancestors planted those trees and what we are doing today is destroying it. He expressed sadness because only specious destroying the environment in this world is human beings and all other specious are environmental friendly. He advised students to inform their parents to invest in nature like they invest in other financial savings. If nature is saved we can have natural food otherwise no use of financial savings. He appreciated the efforts of CEV & SDM School for this project as oxygen from plants released only after certain age and students will be taking care of the plants for that. He also donated several plants.

Er Naresh Kini Introduced CEV institute, its green project and how it is being executed by the institute all over the India. Also he encouraged students saying best reports will be published in CTN News which gets circulated all over the world. He thanked CEV team lead by Dr. Rajwinder Singh CEO & Er. Sandeep Bansal MD & team for the opportunity.

Principal Madam Joy J Rai asked the few questions which are pointed by the speakers. Explained how to go about this project. She thanked CEV & Jeet Roche whole heartedly for the support and promised execution of the project.

Various 60 numbers of Saplings like Neem, Amla, Vishu Flower, Bilva Patra Kokum, Mahaganietc were planted by the CEV members , Principal and students around the school in scientific way as per the guidance of  Jeet. Karnataka Forest Dept. and Sahyadri Nursery Mangalore supplied the plants
