Magadi: A student who fell from a private school bus was run over by the bus and died on the spot. The incident took place near Hucha hanume goudara Palya on Magadi-Kunigal road. The deceased student is Rajat (7), who was studying in class 3 of SBS Public School in NES Layout of the town.
It had been one and a half months since he enrolled in the school. Rajat is the only son of Lokesh and Radha, who are mortar workers from Hanur. He was studying at SBS Public School with his sister Dusita. The deceased student's parents lived in a rented house in Hosapalya Janatha Colony.
It is said that the school bus driver, who was going to drop the children home after the school term, was driving at high speed. The school assistant, who was going to drop the children off in the bus, got down near Kalya Colony and went home.
The front door of the school bus that was moving fast in Huccha hanume Gowda's palya was open, and the bus driver asked student Rajath to close the bus door. The student who tried to close the door fell off the bus. Eyewitnesses said that the front wheel of the bus ran over the head of student Rajath and he died on the spot.
Magadi police have registered a case and arrested the driver and are investigating. CEO Narayan, CRC Lakshminarayan visited the spot. The parents' outcry was overwhelming. The student's body has been kept in the morgue of the government hospital.
