Jammu and Kashmir:  Acting on information given by an arrested Kashmiri doctor, Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized 300 kilograms of RDX, an AK-47 rifle and a large quantity of ammunition in Faridabad.

The explosives were seized on the basis of information given by Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather during interrogation. Earlier, the police had seized an AK-47 rifle and other ammunition from a locker belonging to a doctor in the Kashmir Valley. He is currently in the custody of Jammu and Kashmir Police and is being interrogated on charges of being involved in collecting and transporting arms and explosives.

The role of another doctor, Muzamil Shakeel, son of Shakeel Ahmed Ganai, a resident of Koil in Pulwama district, has also been revealed during the investigation. Dr. Muzamil is suspected to have helped in storing the explosives and weapons seized in Faridabad.

Rather was earlier charged under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. This further confirms that terror networks are now recruiting highly educated professionals. According to sources, the involvement of doctors in the act and how such a large quantity of explosives was transported so close to the capital are also being investigated.
