Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Wednesday August 12 recorded 229 fresh cases and seven deaths. As many as 263 fresh cases were reported in Udupi along with three deaths.
Mangalore:- As per the district health bulletin, a total of 7,825 positive cases have been reported till date, out of which 2,349 are currently active. As many as 5,232 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 498 on Wednesday which includes 89 from Covid care centers, 364 from home isolation and 45 from hospitals. A total of 244 deaths have occurred so far, including seven on Wednesday. Among the 243 new cases, 123 have influenza-like illness (ILI), nine have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI), 23 are primary contacts, and 88 are under investigation.
Udupi:- As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, As many as 6,773 confirmed cases of corona virus have been reported so far in the district, including 263 on Wednesday, and 2,738 cases are currently active. As per the district bulletin, 69 deaths have occurred so far including three on Wednesday.Among the 263 new cases, 142 are in Udupi, 95 in Kundapur, 23 in Karkala, and three from outside the district. Among them, 97 acquired the virus through contacts, 34 have ILI, and 128 are under investigation. Four of them have domestic travel history.
